The Proof

Us practitioners of common sense have been saying this for several months. Now we have the proof. http://biggovernment.com/awrhawkins/2011/12/15/breaking-copy-of-atf-email-wanting-more-gun-control-in-wake-of-fast-and-furious/.

Only in this current state of affairs can Eric Holder and several underlings NOT  be in jail right now. If the Bush Administration had been an accessory to murder of a federal agent, the media would be screaming until impeachment proceedings began, and beyond. But not now. Not with the media acting as an agent of the government. This is the most dangerous time in America in at least a few generations now. We going to just sit and watch? Maybe.
But just think of a society where the only guns that exist are in the hands of the government.

Work place violence?

Wow, this is really getting so tiresome. Once again, the White House has made a collective ass out of itself issuing this statement today.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/12/06/military-growing-terrorist-target-lawmakers-warn/.

Come on. If this were an attack by someone with even remote ties to Christianity, the phrase domestic terrorism would be applied ad nauseum. But no, since the attack was inspired by radical Islam, it is simply work place violence.  You see, a believer in Islam can simply not commit a terrible act that was inspired by his religious beliefs. Only the Christian is capable of such hatred.

The majority of Americans have enough common sense to not buy into any of this crap being spewed by the White House, of course.
But the regularity of such nonsense is beyond expected anymore. It's just plain stupid. And they still expect us to believe it.

Crony Capitalism?

This phrase has been tossed around for years, but really isn't accurate. All administrations have engaged in this practice, and the current administration has taken it to a level never seen before. http://www2.timesdispatch.com/news/rtd-opinion/2011/nov/25/tdopin01-more-solyndras-ar-1492198/

Government has always floated in the cess-pool of corruption, but Obama and his minions seem to relish it. Being from Chicago, I can attest to the fact that this is how Obama was raised in the system, and he probably doesn't see anything wrong with it, either.
He just doesn't realize that the entire nation outside of Chicago sees it for what it is.

When government gets involved in the venture capitalism business, it is choosing winners and losers. Obama, of course, seems to have a special knack for choosing losers, leaving the taxpayer to foot the bill. But it has never really been crony capitalism. Call it what it is-crony socialism.

The conscience thing

Ever wonder what makes liberals tick? Why do they think the way they do? How can they be so detached from reality? Here's why.

http://hotair.com/archives/2011/11/21/pelosi-whines-about-catholics-having-this-conscience-thing/.

Here is one of America's most powerful leaders lamenting on how the Catholic church and it's "conscience thing" gets in the way of the abortion provisions in the Obamacare health bill.

This sums it up perfectly. Liberals think the way they do because they are simply devoid of any conscience. And they just can't understand how one's conscience could possibly come into play.

Fortunately, most Americans have a conscience. Sure the abortion issue is a tough one, and will never have an overwhelming majority on one side or the other. But for a powerful political figure to openly gripe about some people having a conscience brings full light on the idiocy of liberalism.

Thanks Pelosi. Rarely does a week pass when you don't make yourself and your cause perfectly clear. You truly are one of the best allies typical common sense Americans have. I hope you stay in the political scene as long as you want. Because as long as you are, the more Americans become aware of the sanctimonious hypocrisy of liberalism.

Rcommended reading

I have no idea what you enthusiastic readers of this blog feel about Ann Coulter. But I'm pretty sure most Americans have never heard of her. Personally, I find her to be rather abrasive, somewhat annoying, and generally discomforting. But, not only do I find myself agreeing with her about 98% of the time, I see her as incredibly attractive in some strange way. No idea why, she's not my type. But at my age, she looks pretty damn good to me.

Anyway, you most definitely have to read her latest effort, "Demonic". This is a brilliantly written masterpiece that explains why we are where we are. The combination of history and the documented tie- ins to the current day are so plainly explained, even liberals could understand. It includes a healthy dose of humor that keeps it light, but never demeans the message. Of course, liberals won't read it because of their inherent fear of the truth. But this book is truly one of the most eye-opening pieces of literature of our time.

Read it. Now.

Coincidence or not?

I would like to take an unscientific poll of the millions of readers of this wildly popular blog. Here is the question: Do you believe the "occupy" movement is a result of the constant class warfare rhetoric of the President of the United States?

Wow look here, the results are in already. As suspected, 100% of you agree that Obama's "us against them" message is responsible for the violence, filth and squalor that is currently degrading America's major urban areas. I don't have to explain why to people like Connolly and Shaskan, but I will anyway, in case someone stumbles across here by accident.

Since Obama has taken office, we have been given a steady dose of  the "enemy from within". During the health care debate, it was the evil insurance companies. Gasoline prices spiked, it was because of the evil oil companies and those rotten bastards that engage in speculating on the future of oil. Then it became the Tea Party folks and Fox News(not real news...his own words). This evolved into those damned Tea Party dominated Republicans that just say no.

I could go on, but you get it. The theme is very consistent. Those that work hard and succeed, are somehow the villain. They should be propping up those that don't want to work, the unambitious, the lazy, because it's only fair.

This message does not resonate with the majority of Americans of course, but it has with the aformentioned bong- toting unwashed. These are the folks that were instrumental in electing Obama, and they are now heeding the piper's call to take it to the streets.

By now, it is no secret that Obama is a disciple of Saul Alinsky, Frank Marshall Davis , the good Reverend Jerimiah Wright,as well as Francis Fox Piven. All America haters.

Which logically leads us to conclude that this "occupy" movement is no coincidence. This is the exact result of the message our president has been preaching all along. Again, it is no coincidence that since the early days of the movement, when Obama publicly embraced it, he has been completely silent now that it has turned into an ugly mob rife with sexual assault, rampant drug use and viloence against police. Not a single word of condemnation from the White House. Despite all the economic pain this movement has caused our cities, he has no problem with any of this, because it is all part of the plan.

There may be a chance that he loses next November, but he has succeeded exactly as planned. And we are in deep trouble.

Outta control

Eric Holder has admitted to lying to congress. He "amended" his previous testimony as to when he became aware of Operation Fast and Furious the other day, in effect admitting that his previous testimony, given under oath, was not true.

So now, not only is Holder not under indictment for being an accessory to murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry,  he is still the U.S. Attorney General.

The most disturbing part of this whole thing is that if this mess had occurred under the previous administration, every major news publication in the country would use this story on it's front page or cover. Every nightly newscast would use it as its lead story night after night. But since Holder is the chosen one of The Chosen One, the story is deemed not worth reporting.

My friends, it has become obvious that this country has degenerated into a nation being played by a state run media with an agenda that is crippling us. The notion of a free press functioning as the watchdog of government has disappeared. The press is now the government itself. Only the still relatively untamed universe of talk radio is still functioning as the media was intended. Sure, Fox News reports these stories, but their coverage is watered down at best. But at least they report them.

We are being run by fascists with most of the media in their pockets. And a huge amount of Americans are being played by the media as "useful idiots" much in the same way the KGB played Russians during the miserably failured tenure of the Soviet Union. And we have no one to blame but ourselves.

You gotta wonder at what point do we stand up and think for ourselves. Anyone else feeling uneasy yet?

Media part 2

This morning, I was once again listening to Don Wade and Roma on the Great 890AM-WLS  from Chicago, the purveyors of common sense and reason. This pair of broadcasters does an excellent job of monitoring the national media. And I have to admit, I was not surprised at their reporting of the election results from last night.

Elections? Oh yeah...there were elections last night. The overwhelming majority of Americans don't know this. But those of us that keep one eye opened, and the millions of readers of this brilliantly written blog are well aware that there were several very important referendums voted on all across the nation last night.

Which brings the discussion to Ohio. On Ohio ballots last night, were Issue 2 and Issue 3. Issue 2 passed with 61% of the vote. This was the vote that reversed
Governor Kasich's repudiation of collective bargaing rights of the public employee unions in his state. Issue 3 was the vote that allowed Ohio to exempt itself from the Obamacare health care bill. It gave Ohio the right to opt out of the national health care law passed in 2009. It passed by a 66% to 39% margin.

The interesting part brought up by Don and Roma, was that the public employee unions spent millions to get their members out to vote. Predictably, they voted in their own self interest to keep their collective bargaining rights, but apparently also voted to reject Obamacare.

But the most interesting part of the story is the media's coverage.
According to Don and Roma(who do exhaustive research), ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN only reported the union victory, Issue 2, on their nightly prime time newscasts. Issue 3 was not reported. Only Fox News reported both results. Again, no surprise.

However, this certanly illustrates how the national media is nothing but an elaborate scam being forced onto the American public. We are being told only what we are deemed worthy of hearing, or what we need to understand. And you are supposed to be naive enough to just go along and accept what you are being told. If you ask questions, you are un-patriotic, crazy, or a racist. Anyone else getting tired of this non-sense yet?

Media

Just imagine what the media coverage would be like if Cain were a liberal. Haven't heard much from the Rev. JJ and Al Sharpton lately, have we? Or have we? I guess Sharpie has his own show on the Obama enslaved cable channel, MSNBC. Anyone get his take on this lately? Would love to hear his eternal wisdom on Mr. Cain, but I just can't bring myself to tune it in. The entertainment value of that channel wore off a long time ago for me.

What took them so long?...the sequel Parts 3 and 4

Well, here we are, about a week into what is still a non-scandal, and still no names of these accusers of  Mr. Cain. Unfortunately for him, the non-scandal has been revealing. Cain and his camp have been exposed as politcal neophytes(not necessarily a bad thing) that have mis-handled this mess to the point where they are attracting attention to it, instead of properly deflecting attention away.

A professional campaign would have simply stated at the outset, that until an accuser comes forward, we have better things to do. The story dies, and the campaign goes on.

On the positive side, it appears that each day brings a new record for contributions to the Cain campaign, signifying that more and more people agree that he is the victim of a witch hunt.

Cain himself has dragged the story out. It will be interesting to see how it progresses. Obviously, the main stream media has a mission to destroy him, and they may very well succeed. But their mission becomes more transparent all the time. Just let your common sense prevail.

What took them so long? Part 2

Check this out. http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2011/nov/1/picket-cain-campaign-has-biggest-online-fundraisin/.

'nuff said.

What took them so long?

I actually hate to comment on this, as it really is a non-story. But I can't help myself. This assault on Herman Cain's character was as easy to predict as the sun rising in the east. We all knew this was coming. The only surprise is how long it actually took for their fear to manifest itself publicly.

Last night, Juan Williams, author of the excellent book "Muzzled" and ardent left wing political analyst, stated that the left inner circles, which he claims to know well, are all very much afraid of Mr. Cain. Of course they are. Cain is a guy who not only escaped the Democratic Party/liberal plantation, he has the gall to talk about it publicly, and even run for President. If you're a lefty, you should be very afraid. Cain exposes the leftist agenda not so much by his words, but his actions, as well as his path in life. He is living proof that anyone, regardless of skin color, can succeed in this country.

The lefty, tho, enslaved by the political correctness cancer, automatically believes that since Cain has black skin, he must sit back with his hand out and keep his mouth shut. And they will decide how much to drop into the extended hand. No  need to look any further than the last 50 years of liberal policies being enacted in this country as proof.

Of course there are countless thousands of black people in this country that have succeeded like Cain, but none so bold to actually seek the Presidential nomination of a major political party. And since Cain has been riding high in the polls for several weeks now, the political establishment feels the need to attempt to destroy him.

It doesn't matter which side is responsible for the attack. What matters is that Cain has ruffled the feathers of the establishment and most Americans love it. In my eternal optimism(naivete'?), I think this will help Cain in the long run. Most of us are fed up with accusations, especially when the so-called victims have not even come forward. And the terminally arrogant media that is running with the story has plainly stated they will not divulge any further details. They simply feel they don't need to, and you will willingly  by what they are selling.  Don't ask questions, they will think for you.

Obviously, at this point in time, not only are the allegations baseless, they are tiresome. And most of us that are capable of independent thought realize this.

Mr. Cain, keep up the good work, and keep up the good fight.

Nazis and Commies

I guess nothing should surprise me anymore about the current administration. But I have to admit, I find it very interesting how Obama, Pelosi, etc., have embraced the perpetual circus on Wall Street. This has to be a huge political gamble on their part. With the blatant support of anarchists, the American Nazi party and Communist Party USA, trudging along with the rest of these folks, Obama seems to think this is what the majority believes in. He seems to be buying into the 99% nonsense.

It just seems like this could have an enormous backlash at the polls next November, especially if these demonstrations turn even more violent.(And they probably will).

We are living thru truly historic times. Never before has a Presidential administration demonstrated such a public detachment from reality. There have been other administrations that just didn't seem to get it, but this one embraces the fact that they are idiots.

The evidence has become rather overwhelming. This has to be by design. The Obama administration's main objective is to destroy the United States as we know it. As I've stated before, he and those that are pulling his strings, believe it is unfair that this country enjoys levels of freedom and prosperity that noone else does. And they feel it is their duty to fix that. Bring America down, redistribute, and then assume total control.

Fascism and tyranny right here in the USA. Never thought I'd live to see it.

The Nanny State at its best

It's October and that means one of the quintessential American events, the World Series is about to start. Congrats to St. Louis and Texas...may the best team win.

And  two thumbs down to Illinois own, Senator Dick Durbin and three other of his Democratic colleagues in the Senate, for their very public appeal to the players in this years fall classic to refrain from chewing tobacco on TV. Come on...how damn stupid do you think we are? Exactly how much of this patriarchal nonsense do you think we the people are going to tolerate?

Senator Dick is very adamant that the ballplayers don't set a bad example for children by using a tobacco product on a national broadcast. He has obviously forgotten that these ballplayers are adults, and some choose to use a perfectly legal product during work. Is chewing tobacco a bad thing? I guess, I've never done it and it doesn't appeal to me. But who am I or Senator Dick to attempt to dictate to other Americans what products they consume by their own volition.

But it's to protect the children. Well wait a minute. Isn't that the parent's job? Does the government need to overreach here also? Apparently, according to Senator Dick. Here is another example of the government supplanting the parent...acting as the nanny.

Durbin, take your elitist, condascending act somewhere else. You look like a fool...and you are. We Americans are perfectly capable of taking care of ourselves. We don't need your self absorbed, high minded bullshit. Just go away.

Give me something for nothing

My God... how far have we fallen as a nation? What used to be the land of opportunity, where hard work and functioning within a set of common laws would virtually guarantee a decent middle class existence, at the very least, gets replaced by an entitlement, victimization mindset, that claims no need to work, then what kind of future do we have?

I almost feel a bit sorry for these folks hanging around Wall
street right now. The truth is, they just don't know any better. Our government run educational system is failing our country miserably. Sure, I've been out of school for awhile now, but I still read. And most of what I read tells me that we are schooling our young people to directly counter what made this nation so spectacularly free and prosperous.

It seems they are being taught that their actions have no consequence, if it feels good, do it, and the government exists to take care of your every need and want. Does that appeal to your common sense? Isn't it YOUR job to take care of your needs and wants? And doesn't our Constitution provide for the freedom to do so?

It really boils down to a fundamental shift in the American psyche.
Yet I truly believe that this shift has not yet affected the majority of Americans.  However,  the minority that buy into this nonsense seems to be growing.

We have become lazy and dependent. And this is a very sad reality. Has America run it's course? Think about it. To punish success and reward sloth is not a recipe for exceptionalism. This is just basic truth. And someone, anyone, needs to get this truth instilled in Washington.

Here we go

Finally, some progress(I hope) on Fast and Furious. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/10/11/earlyshow/main20118456.shtml?tag=cbsnewsSectionContent.0.

It will be very interesting to see how much info is given and how heavily redacted these documents will be.

At the very least, Holder is guilty of gross incompetence. It's looking more and more as tho he may be criminally liable.
Either way he is unfit for office. I have been riding the office of my rep(Kinziger) to join in the call for Holders' resignation. It's a essential we let our representatives know how we(their employers) feel about this.
What is being uncovered here is quite possibly the most insidious crime by an administration in history. One can't help wondering if this is what Obama was talking about when he famously told Sarah
Brady during the early days of his administration, that he was "working under the radar" for further gun control measures.

This thing could get really ugly, people.

L.A. Times

Congrtulations to the L.A Times for being the seemingly only major news publication in the country doing what the media is supposed to do. I am speaking once again about Operation Fast an Furious. Fox News is giving some superficial coverage,(gaining traction, tho) and the story has definitely gained traction on talk radio. And of course, kudos to CBS News for breaking this story in March of this year. The following link provides all the L.A. Times stories for the past several months. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/atf-fast-furious-sg,0,3828090.storygallery.

Back in the day when the media was still doing it's job, this would have already led to impeachment proceedings for the President. Today, with the political correctness cancer calling the shots, this is largely ignored by the mainstream media.

In the early 70's, when Woodward and Bernstein relentlessly pursued the crimes of the Nixon administration, they were regarded as American heros with an academy award winning film following up their great work. Of course, that was a Republican administration, and the current one is Democrat. Where are the Woodward's now? The crimes being committed by the Obama administration make Nixon's look like petty child's play. Just read a little bit of history. Yet Nixon(who I am definitely no fan of), was tossed out as he should have been. For covering up a break in at a hotel. Obama and Holder are accesories to murder of hundreds of Mexicans as well as U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. This has all become very well documented...just look around a bit. Furthermore, Holder has blatantly lied to Congress reagarding his knowledge of the affair.

Yet if you check the websites and watch the broadcasts of ABC, NBC, and CNN, this story doesn't exist.

It is imperitive that Americans wake up to the fact that we are being swindled by the media. We have reached the point where news is filtered through an extreme left wing perspective(see Walter Cronkite's interview after his retirement), and that we are being kept away from the truth.

Think about it for a minute, and you will realize how dangerous all of this has become. The whole point of a free press is to keep the citizens informed of the actions of it's government. Our press today, for the most part, is simply a mouthpiece for the government. Our liberty and freedom are on the verge of vanishing. Wake up!

al-Alwaki

Don't get me wrong, I am as happy as anyone, that the treasonous al-Awaki got blown to pieces the other day. And I continue to applaud the Obama administration acting aggressively to eradicate the savages that would gleefully slit your throat or mine. But...

This guy was a natural born American citizen.
Very much a dirtbag, indeed, but a citizen of this country nonetheless. Does anyone else have a problem with the president signing an executive order to kill a fellow citizen? The classic slippery slope argument applies here, of course. Does the president now have the authority to kill anyone he deems to be a problem?

What's even worse, is the secrecy. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2011/10/the-secret-memo-that-explains-why-obama-can-kill-americans/246004/.

Have a nice day.

Elizabeth

I have been gone for awhile from this ultra-popular blog, and here's why. The most glorious, wonderful, caring, and beautiful human being, Elizabeth Mauro, has been suddenly taken from this world, officially, on September 29, 2011. In a microcosmic way, this is the absolute worst thing that could possibly happen to human-kind.
Elizabeth was what we all should be striving to be. A selfless, caring person that always was supportive and loving, no matter who you were, or what you may have done. A person who could find the positive in an overwhelmingly negative situation. She could take your worst day, and make you feel pretty good about it at the end.

I doubt I will ever know anyone like this again. But I do know, that myself and all of Lizzie's friends are sure, that we are so incredibly fortunate to have been blessed with her special insight and her good time spirit, that we are all much better individuals now, just because she loved us, and we loved her.

Elizabeth was what all of us should strive to be. If more of us were as devoted to harmony and peace as she was, this would be alot more pleasant place to be. But God has taken her now, and I'm sure there is a reason. Heaven has it's newest and brightest angel. And those of us that know her, will forever remain grateful for her short, but virtually perfect trip here on earth.

Elizabeth Mauro 1974-2011.

I love you Liz, and will never, ever forget.

Solyndra

If you have been paying any attention, you have heard of the Solyndra debacle that has unfolded right before your tax paying eyes in the last week or two. Solyndra, as you know, is the California based(I mean WAS the California based) solar panel manufacturing company that the All Knowing One graced with $535 MILLION
of our dollars from the disasterous stimulous bill of 2009. That's alot of money.
He personally appeared at the plant, speaking of the wonders of solar energy and how Solyndra will lead the way toward his ridiculous socialist utopia that never can exist in reality. The best part is, the auditing firm Price-Waterhouse had issued a statement on this firm much earlier saying that they were in deep trouble. I am not going to post any linked articles here, because you won't read them anyway. But take my word on this one.

Anyway, the brilliant Barak Hussein Obama nevertheless took $535 MILLION from us, to prop up this troubled manufacturer of solar panels 'cause they were so green.(How groovy!). So last week, Solyndra declares bankruptcy and dumps 1100 workers into the street. No severance, either. Now, the DOJ has raided Solyndra and the homes of it's executives in an effort to uncover corruption. Something must have been rotten in Solyndra if the chosen company of the Chosen One couldn't make it, right?

Here's what the media once again, seems to be missing. This DOJ raid is nothing more than an elaborate Magic Johnson head fake. This certainly appears to be a diversion from the media coverage of the Gibson guitar and Fast and Furious embarassments.(see previous posts). It is well documented that Solyndra has been generous to the Obama campaign and that Gibson has given to Republican campaigns in the past. So now that the media is giving some coverage to Gibson(not enough), the DOJ is trying to look like it is playing fair. So, an out of business, democrat favoring company get's a look from DOJ, while the Republican leaning, American icon Gibson, gets raided twice and property confiscated, yet with no charges filed. You make the call. What's it look like to you?

Do a little reading, apply your common sense, and draw your own conclusions. Do NOT rely on headlines or brief stories on the evening newscasts to develop your opinions. Poke around a little and you will be amazed at what you find. Your government is installing a fascist regime and it is up to us to prevent it.

Write and call your representatives. We have to act now, America, it's getting late.

Tyranny...again Part 3

This is what I basically said a couple of posts back. The DOJ is hassling Gibson because the finishing work on the fretboard wood is not done in India. Our government is trying to protect Indian jobs. Leveling the playing field. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/02/gibson-feds-want-guitar-woodwork-done-by-foreign-labor/?test=latestnews.

Apparently, Gibson Guitars has been known to make contributions to the Republican party. Makes alot more sense now, doesn't it?

Obviously, Chicago thuggery politics is alive and well and flourishing in Washington. God help us.

Gettin' warmer Part 2

After a few weeks of almost no news coverage, Operation Fast and Furious has been getting coverage once again. And it's getting more and more interesting. Tuesday, the news was that Kenneth Melson, the acting head of ATF had been reassigned.(wonder what pay grade?) You can make a good guess.

Now today, the L.A. Times, CBS News and Fox News are all reporting about the emails they have secured showing that at least three White House officials were in the know on this tragically failed operation. A DOJ email seems to stress that the fact a U.S. Border Patrol Agent that was killed with one of the guns DOJ sold to criminals must be covered up.

My daily perusal of the news organization websites predictably found no mention of any of this by ABC, NBC, MSNBC, and of course, CNN. What a surprise!

As I wrote in an earlier post, this story is going to have legs, and those legs started moving a little faster this week. The internet is screaming with this one...maybe the mainstream media won't be far behind. More later. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-atf-guns-20110902,0,7480365.story

Tyranny...again- Part 2

I don't think anyone would blame Gibson Guitars for moving their operations to Mexico(or anywhere else). http://blogs.ajc.com/bob-barr-blog/2011/08/31/gibson-guitar-to-uncle-sam-%E2%80%93-%E2%80%9Cfrom-my-cold-dead-hands%E2%80%9D/.

More manufacturing jobs could disappear, leveling the playing field. Just what this administration wants.

Shelby Steele

I must admit I was unfamiliar with Mr. Steele until now. But his article in today's Wall Street Journal is so perfectly correct, I had to bring it the attention of my millions of readers. Yeah, it's a little long, but worth the 5 minutes it takes to read. This is what I have been saying all along, just alot more eloquently. Thanks, Mr. Steele. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424053111904787404576532623176115558.html

Monday, August 29, 2011

Well said

Here is an excellent summation of Fast and Furious. I didn't realize Limbaugh had been covering this, but I should have known. He is right on with the assessment that this program was a complicated effort for further gun control in this country. http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_081811/content/01125113.guest.html.

Tyranny...again

Ok, you absolutely have to read the linked article. http://biggovernment.com/awrhawkins/2011/08/28/doj-raids-gibson-guitars-over-alleged-environmental-infractions-but-mums-still-the-word-on-fast-and-furious/. It's short and won't take much time, but be sure you peruse the comments section underneath. You will find alot of very thought provoking material there, albeit, just opinion.

We are living under a regime, not a democratic republic as intended. Attorney General Holder is quite possibly the most dangerous man in America, with the possible exception of his boss.

It's also quite interesting how Fast and Furious has virtually disappeared from the news. It seems as tho only the L.A. Times is about the only major publication covering this monumental scandal. Here is the latest article dated August 17th. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-atf-guns-20110817,0,7742514.story.

So, the DOJ is raiding a guitar factory in Memphis, while at the same time covering up it's own weapons trafficking that has killed U.S. Border Patrol agents.

Do you even recognize your country anymore?

This morning on CBS, Obama explained his 40% approval rating as the public's discontent with the Congress. That has gotten so old....COME ON, man!

Market Mayhem

Even the one eye half-opened crowd had to be aware of the extreme volatility of the stock markets across the globe last week, especially here in America. The almighty, all knowing, all caring Barak Hussein Obama very publicly blamed this mayhem on the earthquake in Japan, the greed of the oil companies, and those damn Tea Party people. In other words, as usual, he assigned blame everywhere except for where it obviously belongs. He needs to start by looking in the mirror.

The markets are freaking out because of the failure of American leadership to seriously address our problem with spending, leading to a downgrade(first ever) of this country's debt rating.

Here is why. For the first time in at least a couple generations, and maybe ever, we have a White House that is openly hostile toward  free market capitalism. Because of his firm belief in socialism, Obama is regulating business to the point of choking it to death. Between an extremely costly health care law, and regulations issued by the EPA and OSHA under his direction(among others), the U.S. is just not business friendly anymore, and it shows. We have the highest corporate tax rate(35%) on the planet and so many petty rules dictating how a business can be run that money and entrepreneurialism are fleeing for the friendlier confines of Brazil, India, and even China.

But in the ever brilliant mind of Obama, that's just fine with him. He believes that it is his duty as a global citizen, to level the playing field. And since his power is limited when it comes to building up other nations, he enacts policies to bring his nation down. Leveling the field. As I've said before, listen carefully to his words, read his books, and you definitely get the impression he resents America's success. This is why he insists on following an economic model that has always failed, and is failing right before our eyes all across western Europe.

If you agree that America is too free and to prosperous, then vote for him next year. But if you are like the overwhelming majority of Americans who love freedom, autonomy and the guarantee of being allowed to pursue whatever you want within a framework common laws, than vote for someone else. If we get another four years of this, you won't even recognize your country anymore.

Tyranny

If you still have any doubt that the Democratic party has been thoroughly taken over by Communists, check out this link. http://www.onenewsnow.com/Culture/Default.aspx?id=1408390.

These are Senator John Kerry's quotes from the other day and they should scare you. Here is a prominent and powerful U.S. Senator publicly stating that the media has a RESPONSIBILITY to NOT offer opposing viewpoints. Hard to believe, I know, but read it for yourself. He made these comments on MSNBC, America's version of state run television. Wonder if he will use the same rhetoric on the campaign trail if he runs again?

I would like to think most of us understand that the media's chief responsibilty is to offer as many existing credible viewpoints that they can find. This,of course, is where we get discussion and debate and hopefully independent thinking on our part. But the Senator doesn't think so. He would be a very powerful and protected leader in the old Soviet Union, don't ya think?

There are way too many folks in Washington that have been there way too long. And on both sides of the aisle. Next November is our chance to help clear this up.

Common sense

Why do I find myself going to a London newspaper more often for U.S. news? Maybe because the Telegraph doesn't have an agenda like  most of the major papers in America. Here's the latest by Nile Gardiner, who appears on American TV and radio regularly.
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/nilegardiner/100099762/america%E2%80%99s-debt-downgrade-is-a-damning-indictment-of-president-obama%E2%80%99s-big-government-disaster/.

It's just common sense, folks.

Hot fun in the summertime Part 2

Very interesting on how actual time lines do not appear in any of the stories. Here is a typical one from UPI. Also check out the El Paso Times. http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2011/08/04/Court-documents-say-US-knew-about-coke/UPI-87601312468705.

So, now we let tons of cocaine into the country in exchange for information? What kind of information? Have there been any arrests?

The print media is seemingly trying to lay this on the evil George Bush, but if you poke around a bit, you get a different story. Stay tuned America, this one is not going to go away. More later...

Hot fun in the summertime...

Gettin' better all the time... http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31727_162-20083772-10391695.html.

If the debt ceiling wasn't taking up all the space right now, this would actually be getting some attention.

If Bush were still in office, there would be resounding cries for impeachment.

Rock'n'Roll tells the future

I was talking to Price today. Price is a 45 year old college student(God bless the effort) who is writing papers with musical themes for an english class. We got discussing how much can be learned from rock lyrics, and we both agreed there is a treasure trove of real life lessons that rock has bestowed upon us over the last 40 plus years.

Rock 'n' Roll lyrics serve so many purposes. Usually, they're just fun. Sometimes they are ridiculous, sometimes dramatic, or sometimes they tell a good story. The most intriguing of rock lyrics though, are the one's that seem to foretell the political future. The most famous example is probably Pete Townshend's "Won't get fooled again" from the 1971 release of "Who's Next", one of rock's true ultra-classic, epic albums. This song is timeless, and can be applied to almost any era, in any corner of the globe. In 1976, Neal Pert wrote the brilliant "2112" which appeared on the Rush album of the same title, telling the story of a futuristic repressive regime stifling individual thought and creativity. This rings very true in America today.

But there is one classic rock tune that few remember, but is actually more relevant today in America than it was when it was released in 1970. The tune was authored by John Kay, the singer/songwriter of one of America's greatest bands, Steppenwolf.
Titled "Monster/Suicide/America" from the album "Monster", it was originally penned to express dissatisfaction with America's involvement in Viet Nam. However, with a quick re-read of the lyrics, one can't help finding close parallels to the state of our union, right here in 2011.

The "Suicide" segment of the song begins eerily enough:
"The spirit was freedom and justice
And it's keepers seem generous and kind
It's leaders were supposed to serve the country
But now they won't pay it no mind
'Cause the people grew fat and got lazy
And now their vote is a meaningless joke"...

Perfect description of todays complacency among the public and the self serving "leaders" we have mindlessly elected, don't ya think? It goes on...
"Yeah, there's a monster on the loose
It's got or heads into a noose
And it just sits there watchin"

Another perfect analogy of  America's federal government, right here, right now, June 2011. It continues...
"Our cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is strangling the land...
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand..."

Kay must have had the world's best crystal ball. Right on target. Anyone who has flown lately can surely relate to that police force line. It goes on to tell about incurring costs we can never pay(familiar)? and concludes brilliantly with the "America" segment of the song...

   "America where are you now?
Don't you care about your sons and daughters?
Don't you know we need you now
We can't fight alone against the monster."

Enough said.

No. 2

Congratulations to Derek Jeter for achieving the rare milestone of 3000 hits. I love this guy. Not only does he reach the milestone, he does it with a home run, goes 5 for 5 AND drives in the game winning run with his team in the middle of a hot division race. Only Jeter. When the spotlight is the brightest, he is always at his best.

My favorite thing about him tho, is he truly is a throwback to when this game actually was our national pastime. In this era of the self absored, "it's all about me" pro athlete, Jeter has remained the consummate professional, always demonstrating that he is honored to be playing the game and doing all the things he can to help his team win. If you're a baseball fan in any way, you gotta feel blessed to be around during the Jeter era. Thanks, Derek.

Reality

Once again, Thomas Sowell has written the truth. He just has a knack for telling it like it is with brevity in a way that is easy to grasp. Thanks again, Mr. Sowell. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/07/05/politics_versus_reality_110456.html

Freedom part 2

I was listening to Don and Roma the other day. They are the morning drive time duo on the 50000 watt blowtorch WLS- AM 890 out of Chicago, and they have been spewing common sense over the airwaves for about 25 years now. God bless 'em.  Don was reading a letter that a Chicago area house cleaning company had just sent to all of its clients. The letter explained how due to new OSHA regulations, you must now have a separate toilet cleaning brush for each bathroom in your home. This is to avoid cross contamination. ( I swear I am not even smart enough to make this up...this is real). The letter went on to explain that if you do not already have seperate brushes, they are REQUIRED to place them in your home for you, and they listed the prices that you will pay for your new brushes. Thank God for OSHA and the almighty, all knowing, all caring federal government. To think we have not been cleaning our bathrooms properly for all these years is simply bone chilling. Where would we be without the brilliant central authority in D.C.?

Just as I was  able to hear the smoke blasting out of Don's ears, it hit me that this did not surprise me. Sure, our nannies in Washington assume we are idiots. Been that way for a long time now. But it goes far deeper.

Have you flown lately? The TSA(who is now unionizing, by the way...isn't that great?) will treat you as a criminal suspect via their body searches. No due process, no probable cause. You are a suspect simply because you desire to travel from point A to B. And my 74 year old mother will get the exact same scrutiny as the 20 year old kid with a Pakistani passport.(Political correctness). Is this the beginning of desensitizing the public to searches by federal agents? Cynical, yes, but still a legitimate question. Does this feel right to you? Is this consistent with freedom?

In several states, including the Peoples Republic of Illinois, if you own a tavern that you virtually live in and lose sleep over to provide a living for yourself, you can't have a smoke inside of it.  Even if you OWN the building itself.(Political correctness). Does this feel right to you?....freedom?

And of course there is the famous example of the feds and Boeing that I addressed in a recent post, as well as the incandescent light bulb saga. And the list goes on. And freedom becomes more scarce.

Those of us that make a point of keeping our eyes open know very well that something is going terribly wrong in this country. But I suspect that even those of us who tag along with maybe one eye just half open and base their uninformed opinions on just a glance at a headline and what the   late night comics say know something is not right also. Actually, I'm quite sure of it, because I know Americans, for the most part, are decent folks with a healthy sense of what is right and just. Hopefully, more and more of us are opening that other eye every day.

For my kool-aid drinking friends

Check the linked article. It is a concise summary of the effect of the over $800 billion the administration spent(and borrowed to do so, since the money did not exist), in February of '09. Oh yeah, it's actually over $1,000,000,000,000(trillion) with interest. If this doesn't wake you up, I guess nothing will. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-s-economists-stimulus-has-cost-278000-job_576014.html.

How do you calculate a "saved" job anyway? I still have not found any empirical data on this. Why have we not heard the term "saved job" until this administration came in? Guess you all just take their word for it. Too bad for America, huh?

Freedom

Happy Independence Day to the two or three people that might accidently stumble across this webpage of common sense rants. Enjoy your dwindling freedom while you can and be thankful for what freedom you have left. See the linked article to find out another one of the subtle ways the government is trampling on liberty. http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/270843/iviva-la-iluminaci-ni-matt-patterson.

This is not new news, of course, but it perfectly displays this creeping(and creepy) trend that we are allowing to take place in the Land of the Free. Thanks to Matt Patterson for succinctly stating the problem and thanks to anyone else who decides to become more active politically in their own community.

Me? I'm going out to buy a whole bunch of American made incadescent light bulbs. Time is running out, America.

Michigan

Yesterday was a sad day for the people of Michigan. Once again, a court has made an activist ruling(not their job) that has gone against the will of the voters of the state. Check this article from The Detroit News. http://detnews.com/article/20110701/SCHOOLS/107010416/State-to-fight-ruling-against-ban-on-race-in-college-admissions#ixzz1QuhuL728.

The guaranteed Constitutional right of equal opportunity has been washed away by two Justices on a Michigan appeals court. Two people have told the 58% of voters that approved the Proposition 5 years ago, that they are wrong.

So affirmative action is alive and well in Michigan at a time when most of the country is waking up to the fact that it is simply discrimination. Never could figure out how discrimination is illegal, except if it is practiced against a majority. Common sense does not apply here, does it?

My kinda town....

Since I live right here in the Peoples Republic of Illinois, most of the stories I hear originate from my hometown, Chicago. Great city, with great people...for the most part. But check out the link. http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2011/06/26/Teen-mob-storms-Chicago-Walgreens/UPI-24261309062660/.

Now, this is not a phenomena unique to the windy city. Urban centers from coast to coast are experiencing this homegrown terror. This just happens to be the town I am most in tune with at the moment. The question again, is...why is this happening??

Here's why. After at least a couple of decades of our schools, our media, and even our courts constantly sending the message that:1-you are not responsible for your actions; 2- you are a victim...you are repressed somehow; and 3- you are entitled to what you want, this type of behavior is simply a natural by-product. What else can you expect, when we are consistently being told that someone who happens to have more than you, owes you in some way. Hey Mr. Retailer, you have all this stuff on your shelves and I don't have any of it. I'm entitled to it, because you are keeping it from me thru your evil, repressive capitalism. Never mind all the  risk and sweat and time invested(hard work) that Mr. Retailer went thru to open the shop doors...all that is never considered. Nope, you got something I want, so I'm gonna take it.

Once again, you have to think of ancient Rome. The concept of entitlement, simply because you breathe, was the destruction of the Roman Empire, and is certainly going a long way in the rapid decline of America.

Are we going to continue to keep ourselves ignorant and un-involved? Or are we going to become active in our communities at promoting principles of self reliance, personal responsibility, decency and common sense. I gotta feeling we are about to find out.

Boeing

As you may have heard, the Federal Government has brought suit against Boeing for opening a factory in South Carolina to help in production of the new 787 Dreamliner. The NLRB, acting on a complaint from the machinists union, is claiming that Boeing has opened this plant in a right to work state(meaning unions are weak) as retaliation for past strikes at their union facilities in Washington state. As far as I can tell, the NLRB has produced no evidence to support this charge, other than what some union official out west has speculated about.

So, here we go. Now the government is dictating to private business where it can or cannot set up shop. Once again, the Obama administration is sucking up to the unions who planted millions into his campaign warchest in 2008. And, potentially at the expense of several thousand jobs in South Carolina. Does this sit right with you?

On the bright side, this should go a long way in helping Obama lose South Carolina in the next election. There really is hope.

Project Gunrunner

Interesting article by Tom Tancredo. It asks the questions that are the most relevant right now. Let's keep watch on how the mainstream media handles this one. http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=312485

BATF part 2

Well, even tho the shredders at Justice and ATF have probably been running 24/7 for awhile now, I think this story might have some real legs to it. Reference the earlier post entitled BATF and read the linked article. No way I'll ever believe that something of this magnitude occurred without the knowledge of the Justice Department. No way.

A little clicking around, and you can find quite a bit on this story. The media will not report most of it, of course. But I find it interesting that Mr. Melson, acting head of ATF is refusing to resign. According to an L.A. Times story today, he's unwilling to be the fall guy. Stay tuned, folks...this could get ugly.

Shootin' from the hip

I'm going off half cocked on this one. All I have heard is an ABC News radio report and I've done no research.(I feel like MSNBC).
I just heard that the International Energy Agency(never heard of it) has agreed to cut loose with 60 billion barrells of oil onto the open market. 30 billion barrells will be provided by the U.S. Obama has directed the National Strategic Oil Reserve to unleashe these 30 billion barrells. The price of oil plunged over $4 per barrell today.

Correct me if I'm wrong please, but I was always under the impression the this national reserve was to only be tapped at times of a severe disruption in the flow of oil. A terrorist attack maybe, or a natural catastrophe. I believe the last time this was done was after Katrina. The administration is saying that supply is the determining factor here...the war in Libya is somehow to blame.
The truth is, Libya is a relatively small player in the oil market, and virtually all the oil it exports goes to Europe.

Everything I've read recently states that there is plenty of oil on the market. As a matter of fact, oil prices have been steadily dropping over the last month and a half.

Once again, you just can't help thinking that this another political ploy. The election gets closer every day, Obama's economic record looks worse every day, so he thinks getting gas prices down right before the July 4th holiday somehow makes him look like a leader.
In other words, he thinks you are a moron.

This national reserve now must be replenished in case there actually is an emergency. We going to drill? I hope so. But in the meantime, they are counting on the American public remaining as un-informed useful idiots. Will you comply?

BATF

Too all firearms owners out there: You gotta read this one. http://www.nrapublications.org/index.php/10142/project-gunrunner/. Another great example of how stupid your government thinks you are. This is what terminal arrogance of the ruling elite brings. Congrats to CBS News for breaking the story and to any other media organization that continues to follow up.

As long as we're congratulating, thumbs up to to the people of the Great State of Wisconsin(home of the world champion Green Bay Packers), whose Governor is about to sign into law a conceal/carry option for gunowners. Of course, this must be followed by a big thumbs down to the Peoples Republic of Illinois, as we are now the last state in the union without this freedom to protect ourselves.

Libya

You gotta see the linked UPI article. Remember we are "leading from behind". This is NATO's war and America really isn't all that involved. Never mind that NATO IS America. This Prez has nothing but contempt for the Congress or the Constitution. The War Powers Act is just fine as written, it just doesn't apply to THIS administration. How stupid do they think we are? http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2011/06/15/Obama-War-Powers-Act-not-applicable/UPI-43561308158071

I wish I were an Oscar Meyer....

Ok, I really wanted to stay above the fray and ignore the Anthony Weiner story. To me, it's just the current distraction the media is feeding us so they don't have to report on the real stories. But, I can't resist commenting on the media coverage once again. Here is what you don't hear.

Weiner, from New York, has a big D after his name. He obviously does not have a single ounce of common sense or decency and has acted like an idiot, especially for someone in his position. And many of the high ranking pols that have a D after their names are calling on him to resign, finally. Sure he should resign. He is a disgrace to the institution he represents. But you can't help getting the feeling that his resignation is being demanded by his fellow party members simply because he got caught. Nancy Pelosi, Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, etc., are all portraying him as someone with a disease(in other words, not his fault) that needs to seek the help he so desperately needs. The truth is, he is a self absorbed idiot with less sense than a 5th grader.

Now, about 6 months ago, a guy with an R after his name, Chris Lee(again from New York...what is it with New York?) admitted to a similar prank, but far less disgusting and grotesque as the dalliances by Weiner. It is generally understood, that John(the Tan) Boehner told Lee he will immediately resign his seat, and he did. Why the dramatic difference in the way the two parties handle their own idiots?

Here's why. The dopes with the R after there names, in general, run campaigns and promote policies that have a moral high ground, more of a traditional values type approach to them. So when someone strays like Lee, he is immediately axed.

The dopes with a D after their names have made a living out of having absolutely no moral compass whatsoever. This is the party that will bend over backwards to ensure you have unimpeded access to an abortion. Even use someone else's money to pay for it, if possible. This party views Bill Clinton like the rocknroll world views Mick Jagger: a legend of almost mythical proportions. So what if Clinton has cheated on his wife repeatedly, and lied directly to the American public. He is a hero simply because they think he believes in their progressive agenda.

So there you have it. That's my two cents on a relatively benign topic. Just one question: which set of dopes would you rather trust?

National media

In a post from last month titled 2012, I referred to the double standard the media imposes on us while covering politics. Today's Chicago Tribune gives us a glaring example. The front page of the Trib has a very lengthy, detailed, and alarming article on how we can expect electricity prices to increase by as much as 60% starting in 2014. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-biz-0612-rates-20110611,0,7432941.story.

The facts stated in the piece are not new. This story has actually been in the news(if you were looking) for a couple of years now. But here is what is remarkable about the piece. There is not one single mention of the current administration's cap and trade ideology. Cap and trade,of course, is the lunacy based plan to tax smoke and trade options to produce said smoke. It's ultimate goal is to put the evil coal industry out of business, which in turn eliminates hundreds of thousands American jobs.

Throughout this lengthy and well written piece, Obama's name is never mentioned. The phrase carbon tax or cap and trade is never mentioned. As you may recall, cap and trade legislation failed miserably in the Congress, so the EPA just decided to declare carbon dioxide a pollutant. The same gas plants need and emit. The same stuff you produce when you breathe. This gives the government the authority to regulate it. Cap and trade lives, albeit through the backdoor. What do we need a Congress for, anyway?

The Trib makes several mentions of "new regulations" as tho they just somehow magically occurred. Not one single reference as to how the regulations originated. Why?

Here's why. The plan of taxing carbon is a plan hatched by the geniuses that call themselves liberals. Therefore the media is obliged to shed as little negative light as they can get away with.
Never associate Obama's name with something that has a negative impact on us all. And blame Bush if possible. Sure, I'm exaggerating a bit here, but not much. My guess is, that if a Republican administration had a proposal similar to this one, there would be loud cries from the media on how they just don't care about the little guy.

Another thought: Wouldn't a 60% increase in electricity rates go a long way in putting many already struggling businesses under? And more jobs disappear.

Anyway, the mainstream media is complicit in the whole mess. That is not even debatable anymore. The Chicago Tribune is one of the most respected publications in the country, and it is failing to the most basic job of the media: to act as the watchdog of the government. That is why the first amendment guarantees a free press. But we are getting short-changed. We only get the parts of the story they want us to have.

Does anyone out there realize how incredibly dangerous this has become?

Friday, June 10, 2011

Breath

Remember a few years ago when then candidate Obama stated that "under my plan of cap and trade, electricity prices will nesessarily skyrocket"...?? Well, he couldn't get the Congress to pass it, so he just went ahead and mandated the EPA to do it, via executive order. I think that was back in February. So now, check the  link. http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2011/06/08/coal-regs-would-kill-jobs-boost-energy-bills.

Remember Ceasar and his relationship with the Senate? Tyranny is not a good thing, people. Wake up!

Rome part 2

I would like to start by thanking We be workin for providing the link to the Chicago Tribune story in the comments section of the previous Rome post. This directly ties in to what I would like to say in part 2.

Not only has the United States gone in an eerily similar direction to the failed Roman Empire on an economic basis, but culturally, it might be even more frightening. There are countless historical accounts of the degradation of basic values of decency and morality during the final years of Rome. Gambling and drunkeness were rampant. Sexual promiscuity(both hetero and homo) became viewed as the norm, not the exception. And all these actions became viewed as inconsequential. In other words, personal responsibility almost disappeared. One did not need to be responsible for one's actions, because one could do no wrong. When a problem occurred, the tyrannical central authority of Rome's ruling class would ensure that you would still be able to eat and house yourself, at the expense of the taxpayer.

Sound familiar? It should. In the U.S. today, there is a casino popping up in every suburb. Flash mobs are looting and pillaging because they know the reward is far greater than the risk. The entertainment industry makes every movie or TV show with a nod to homosexuality as not only normal, but something to be celebrated.(Yes, that line will offend some,I get it... but the truth is, if homosexuality were normal, the human species would have expired eons ago. Different subject for a different post.) In the Chicago public schools today, when a teacher is assaulted, the principal's first question to the teacher is, "what did you do to provoke the student"? Yeah, political correctness run amok. We all know it, too.

The recent rash of flash mobs in downtown Chicago is a direct result of political correctness. The perpetrators, so far, have all been black teenagers. The victims, so far, have all been non blacks. Yet there has not been a single mention of any of these kids being prosecuted under the current hate crime statutes. Why is that? Would it be the same story if the perpetrators were white thugs targeting minorities?

And Mayor Emmanuel has been very public in his statements. No big deal...we aren't that concerned...it's summertime, ya know? Why?

And the Obama Justice Department is stepping up it's investigations into big city police departments for there alleged brutality.

Yeah, the Roman republic was a human rights nightmare in many ways. It definitely degenerated into tyranny, and it's Senate rendered irrelevant(hmmm...sound familiar again?). But it is responsible for bringing the human being into its current state of modernity. And when it fell, it fell hard. Never did recover.

Rome

The similarities between the ancient Roman Republic and the current United States of America have been a topic of debate and controversy for many years. I felt that the article that is linked below, does an excellent job of summarizing the economic segment of the argument. What is truly frightening however, is that the article was written in 1990. Our debt was a quaint $3 trillion then. Read it and weep. http://www.fff.org/freedom/0690c.asp

Stay tuned for part 2.

UBL part 2

Today, I would just like to post an email I received from one of the more brilliant minds on America's East Coast. Brilliant, because I think this person actually follows this blog.

Just as long as he doesn't have to give up his Nobel Peace Prize
"Let's be clear on this: OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An American sailor,
who Obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether or not to PAY, did.
In fact, if you remember a little less than two years ago, his
administration actually charged and attempted to court marshall 3 Navy
Seals from Seal Team Six, when a terrorist suspect they captured,
complained they had punched him during the take-down and bloodied his
nose. His administration further commented how brutal they were. The left
were calling them Nazis and Baby Killers. Now all of a sudden the very
brave men they vilified are now heroes when they make his administration
look good in the eyes of the public. Obama just happened to be the one in
office when the CIA finally found the bastard and our sailors took him
out. Essentially, Obama only gave a yes or no answer to him being taken
out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!! Forward on IF
YOU AGREE!!"

I really wish I were a better writer, but I'm not. Thankfully, there are people like Thomas Sowell. Here is a link to his most recent article...a must read. This is exactly what I have been trying to articulate for a long time now. He is just alot better at it than I am.

Gas part 2

In an earlier post discussing gas  prices, I gave a handful of reasons for the increase that it is hurting us all. One reason was that the U.S., with it's huge reserves of oil, functions under a policy that prohibits us from retrieving it.

Well, it's been a couple weeks now since the all knowing President made his announcement(on a weekend of course, to minimize the media attention), that the U.S. does indeed plan on expanding exploration and drilling in areas that have been previously forbidden. Oil prices have been bid slowly down ever since, thus dropping the price of gas. Where I live, it is now 42 cents/gallon less than just two weeks ago. The free market at work.

Is it too cynical to think that the Prez looked at his calender and realized there is an election coming up in less than a year and a half? Nope. My guess is that is exactly what has transpired here. Interesting how a guy who is owned in part by the lunatic fringe of tree huggers will gladly sell them out to save his own hide.

At least this compromise of principles by the Prez is in a positive way for the nation--for once.

Israel

Anyone see the president's speech today? Did he just sell out Israel? Sure looks like it. God help us all.

Indiana

I wanted to make my next post a comment on the federal government intervening with Boeing from opening shop in South Carolina.... a travesty and very dangerous power grab by the central authority. Then I saw the story about the Indiana Supreme Court ruling that broke this weekend. All I can say is...WOW! Have we really fallen this far? One of our state Supreme Courts has just ruled that it's OK for a police officer to enter your residence whenever he or she feels like it. Am I reading this right? Give me some feedback, folks...my eyes are too glazed over to write anymore. http://www.courierpress.com/news/2011/may/13/indiana-supreme-court-no-right-resist-unlawful-pol/

2012

During the last 6 days, the TV and the internet have been filled with punditry and analysis regarding how the long overdue death of UBL will affect Obams re-election bid next year. One point that keeps recurring in this discussion, is that after the liberation of Kuwait, GHW Bush enjoyed approval ratings as high as 90%. This is true. He still managed to lose in '92. And since the successful take out of UBL, Obama's approval ratings barely cracked 50%. This is also true.

But the one key element I'm not really  seeing in all the analysis is the media. Since Bush had an R after his name, the national media, by nature, was hostile. The current president has a D after his name(plus the PC factor) which naturally earns him the support of the media. Actually, there has been no other president in recent times to have enjoyed what has become virtually state run media.
There is even an entire cable news network devoted to propaganda in favor of this administration.

The White House and the media will run with the UBL story for a very long time. Actually, have you even heard the word Libya lately? It does seem the mixed bag of employment numbers released yesterday did get some juice, but not much. But every detail of this triumph against terror will be in our faces for months. It's the only thing this administration has to hang it's hat on. And it makes for a great distraction from what we are paying at the pump and grocery store.

Don't get me wrong, UBL's demise is a great moment for America and the national psyche. I actually envy the Seal that pulled the trigger. But it will be fascinating to watch over the course of the upcoming election season how it will be manipulated for political reasons. Beware.

Mr. Sowell

You just gotta love Thomas Sowell. He has hit it right on the head once again in todays article in Investor's Business Daily entitled Fed Up with the Fed. Another plain talking dose of reality from one of the most under-appreciated thinkers of our time. Check it out. And thanks, Mr. Sowell.

UBL

Congrats to the Seal unit that served justice to bin Laden. Well done. Some proof would have been nice, tho.

Cain is able

Herman Cain. The more I research this guy, the more I hurry to get on the bandwagon. A common sense talker, with a common demeanor, this guy knows how to get things done. But I will praise his qualities on a later post. Today, I want to bring up the other, perhaps lighter, more fun angle.

For those who don't know(virtually everyone), Herman Cain has declared his candidacy for President. He is a staunch fiscal conservative with a set of values that most Americans share. But most have not heard of him, nor will they, unless they make an effort. Why? Because most of the media will not stand for it. Mr. Cain believes in a limited government, lower taxes and personal responsibility, therefore, protecting our individual liberties.
Sure, those with the same ideolgy, (Ron Paul, Sarah Palin, etc.) get all kinds of media attention. But Cain won't. He can't. All because of one simplistic and ridiculous reason. His skin happens to be black. Yes, Herman Cain is an African-American, who took full advantage of the freedom this country bestows upon everyone, and made his own way. He is also an avid supporter of the Tea Party movement. Someone who strongly believes that the phrase, We the People, that introduces the Constitution, actually means something.

I really hope he does become more well known. If the media is forced to ever mention his name, it will be so much fun to watch. Since the political correctness cancer has to keep everything in it's own little box(don't you dare think outside that box), those in the media that are enslaved by political correctness have absolutely no way to deal with the likes of Mr. Cain. It will be hilarious to watch NBC, CBS, NPR and MSNBC tripping over their tongues to try to paint Mr. Cain as a lunatic. How quickly will Jesse Jackson use the phrase Uncle Tom if he has to reference Mr. Cain? And, it's all so predictable. I can't wait until the Mikey Moore's and Bill Maher's have to acknowledge this man's presence. How funny will Letterman and Stewart look?(And not in the way they want to be funny). Maybe I shouldn't include Stewart here...we will see. But it's amazingly easy to predict. My guess is, he will simply be ignored. Does anyone even know the names Thomas Sowell or Alan West? Nope. And it's all because the media simply chooses to act as if they do not exist. They simply don't have a way to deal with such folks. Doesn't fit in the box.

Average uncommon sense says that if you are at all concerned about America's future, and the well being of yourself and our up and coming generations, look up Herman Cain. You will probably like what you see.

Unified

How many times during the last presidential campaign did we hear BHO'B referred to as the the Great Unifier? Let's elect a guy with no qualifications other than a silver tongue and some color in the skin and we will all live happily ever after as one. Don't ya love political correctness?

His first many months in office were dedicated to health care reform. He gave countless speeches throughout the land praising the wonders of government controlled health care. How? By constantly portraying the insurance companies as the greedy, evil enemy. Never mind that the insurance companies enjoy a mere 3% profit margin on their product. He always failed to mention that annoying little fact.

Then, he made it clear that anyone who may express a dissenting opinion regarding his socialist agenda is somehow un-educated, simple, and un-enlightened. You just didn't get it. He actually went as far as telling us not to watch a certain cable news network because some info delivered there wasn't real. And of course, if you did not agree with the big government, big spending policies, you are most certainly racist. Now Obama himself never actually made that charge, but his minions did, over and over and over again. And not a word of objection from the Great Unifier himself.

Then came the budget battle. Why do we have record deficits? It's the evil rich people. They just don't pay their fair share in taxes. Even though if the top 5% of earners were taxed at a rate of 100%, it would barely scratch the surface of the current deficit, well, another little annoying fact he fails to mention.(Anyone else tired of this worn out class warfare nonsense we always seem to get from a certain political party?)

Now this week, it's gas prices. As he joked about not having to pay for gas himself, he boldly announced that the DOJ will launch an investigation into the greedy speculators who trade oil on the open world market. Brave move, indeed. Never mind that that is what the Federal Trade Commission does for a living, nope, he's gonna get to the bottom this. Surely, it's these shady capitalists causing your pain at the pump. Also never mind, that since his administration has monetized the national debt(thus printing money at a record pace), that prices of everything are rising, combined with an unsettling middle east situation is what really is causing the $5 per gallon gas.

So back to the original point. The Great Unifier is obviously using the time tested strategy of divide and conquer. Create an enemy for every issue, exaggerate a crisis, and imply that should you not agree with his brilliance, you are the enemy. He has become the most divisive, polarizing president ever.

How's that kool-aid tasting now, America?

First time ever

Today, the Fed will hold it's first ever press conference. Ever. I find this fascinating, and I'm not sure why. Will Bernanke admit they have ruined our economy? I doubt it, but maybe the long time demands of Ron Paul and his legion of followers are finally being heard...and it's about time. Stay tuned...

Food for thought

I've been watching this Obama guy closely since the night of the 2004 Democratic convention. He gave a speech that night that was met with resounding applause and officially made him a rising star  in that party. This had all been in the works for years, of course, but the party convention brought it to the national stage.
In the ensuing months, it became quite clear that the political correctness cancer that is destroying this country would make sure Obama would win the presidency in '08. You could see it coming, especially when the other party could do no better than to nominate Mr. McCain.

By this time, the media had brainwashed most people into believing that  Bush was a direct descendant of Satan(the dumbest of all his descendants) and since McCain was from the same party as Bush, he had no chance anyway.

But now, almost  two and a half years into the Obama presidency, there seems to be quite a bit of buyers remorse out there. Why?
Did those that supported him not listen to him on the campaign trail? When Obama claimed he would fundamentally transform America, did none of them ask, tranform how, and into what? I doubt it. It didn't take too much effort to read between the lines of an Obama campaign speech to realize that he fancied himself as the father of the American nanny state. If you listened, he made it quite clear that government is the solution to every problem, large or small. Government will provide everything you need and most of the things you want. And this will all be done on the back of some type of green energy/jobs policy that only he knew how to implement. You may think that all sounds like nonsense. Well, that's because it is nonsense. This exact model has been crumbling all across Europe for many years now, and is coming to it's ugly conclusion rapidly. Obama knows this.

You ask, why would the President of the United States officially adopt policy that is a proven failure? Here's why. Read his books, listen carefully to his speeches he gives on foreign soil. Look at the current strategy he adopted for this debacle in Libya. This president resents the fact that the United States is a successful, free, and prosperous nation. He simply thinks it's not fair. Why should one country enjoy the standard of living, and the individual liberties we enjoy here, when most other nations do not. He sees himself as a globalist, a citizen of the world, and feels he is doing the right thing by bringing down the U.S.

Personally, I disagree with the guy. Sure, I figuratively won the lottery the day that I was born to two wonderful parents right here in the U.S.A. But I gotta admit, I like being number one. And I think a large majority of Americans would agree with that sentiment.

It's not too late America, but for God's sake, you gotta start paying attention.

Gas

Yeah, the price of a gallon of gas is getting high. Is it getting more in line with where it should be, or, are we being taken for a ride? I honestly don't know. But I can ask questions.

Is the general unrest in the largest oil producing part of the world causing the price of oil to jump?

Is the fact that the worlds largest owner of of oil and natural gas reserves prohibits the exploration and drilling for these resourses causing the increase?

Are the the Oh So Evil evil oil companies gouging us for their own benefit?

Or is it that the demand for oil has skyrocketed in the rapidly developing nations such as China, India and Brazil are causing an unprecedented demand, which naturally increases the price?

Oil closed at over $111 per barrel today. It seems to me, that the embracing of the free market system by the aformentioned places like China and India are the main reason you can sell oil for $111 per barrel. I'm no economist, but I do understand the laws of supply and demand. I am also a firm believer in free markets. Let the market be, and the price will go where it is supposed to go.

How often have we heard that America needs a more proactive energy policy? And it always comes from the big government, we need to control evertyhing types of people(insert Presidents name here). The truth is, we have had the most effective energy policy for over 200 years. And that is the free market system.

Once a technology has proven that it can be developed in a cost effective manner, that will deliver affordable energy to the masses, then, the entrepeneurs, risk takers and capitalists will invest to ensure it happens. No level of government investment(spending) will make this happen. Look at Carter's wasted attempt at developing Synfuel in the 70's. Don't get me started on that one.

The bottom line is, as always, get the government out of the way, and the human condition will improve. Just read some history.

This is a budget? Part 2

I made a post here a couple days ago regarding the agreed upon federal budget, that the aformentioned Connolly was not pleased with. I proclaimed to be at least somewhat pleased. But as they sometimes say in the NFL," After Further Review" I am now alot further in the camp of the very wise Connolly.

The more I research this issue, the more I realize that this $38.5 billion in so called cuts, is just $38.5 billion less than the proposed increases the Almighty President has been pushing for. The bottom line is, that we will still spend more this year, than we did last year.
Does this make any sense to anyone?

My fellow Americans, we are screwed. Aside from the tiny minority of Americans who actually want to see this country crumble, does this make any fiscal sense to anyone at all? Yet this is the road our elected representatives have us on...80 miles an hour in a 60 mile an hour zone. At what point does everyone wake up?

I am now thinking the responsible thing to do, is to prod our representatives into voting to NOT raise the debt ceiling and force the brilliant occupant of the White House to enforce a policy of spending only what comes in. Sounds elementary, of course, But I was afraid not rasing the debt ceiling would actually cause a general default of obligations by the U.S., which of course, would lead to worldwide financial disaster. I'm not so sure now. It may be going "All In", but at what point does the line finally get drawn.

Stick to your guns, Connolly, you may be smarter than I thought.
